Privacy Policy

1. Data we collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

• Account data — if you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and (if you sign in via Google or Facebook) your profile photo URL, via Firebase Authentication.
• Profile data — username, country, win streak, and rank.
• Gameplay data — completed games, highscores, and challenges you send or accept. Your username and country are shown publicly on leaderboards; other players can see them.
• Device-local data — the user id is stored in your browser's local storage for highscores and ranking to work. We do not use cookies, except a short-lived security cookie (cf_clearance, 30 min) set only if Cloudflare challenges a suspicious visitor.

2. Why we collect it, and on what legal basis

Account, profile, and gameplay data are collected to provide the Service you asked for — creating an account, tracking your scores, ranking you on leaderboards, and enabling challenges between players.

A per-profile identifier ("profile ID") is stored in your browser. This is strictly necessary for highscores and ranking to work at all.

3. Analytics

We use custom analytics to understand how the Service is used and to measure player activity.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics (cookieless, no fingerprinting) to understand site usage. Visitors from the EU are excluded from this analytics collection entirely.

We do not use advertising or ad-conversion tracking.

4. Who we share data with

We use the following processors:

• Google Firebase (Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC) — authentication, database (Firestore), and hosting infrastructure. Google may process data outside Switzerland/the EEA, including in the United States; this is covered by Google's own data processing terms and standard contractual clauses.
• Our self-hosted analytics tool — receives the event data described in Section 3 above.
• Cloudflare, Inc. — content delivery, security, and (for non-EU visitors) web analytics.

5. How long we keep your data

Account and profile data is kept for as long as your account is active.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to certain processing.

An in-app self-service deletion and export flow is planned; until it is available, you can exercise any of these rights by contacting us at contact@pausengames.com.

7. Children

The Service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "last updated" date above.
